As mudas aguentaram a seca rigorosa de 2011 e despontam firmes acima do capim. Estamos começando a ganhar a briga com o "braquiária" (capim que durante muitos anos foi plantado para alimentar o gado e que afoga e mata a muda quando ela está tentando crescer). Agora é ter paciência e esperar as mudas virarem árvores. Alguns matos do cerrado já estão começando a reaparecer. Acho que é um bom sinal e espero que esta terra tenha muitas sementes guardadas. E que um dia estas sementes possam germinar e ocupar o lugar com as mudas nativas que plantamos para preparar o terreno.
The seedlings withstood the severe drought of 2011 and emerge above the grass. We are beginning to win the fight with "brachiaria" (grass that was planted for many years to feed the cattle and drowns and kills the changes when it is trying to grow). The time now is to be patient and wait for the seedlings turning trees. Some shrub savanna are already beginning to reappear. I think it's a good sign and I hope that inside this land has many seeds. And that one day these seeds can germinate and occupy the place with the native plants we plant to prepare the ground.
